Case Management
Our case manager, Julie, R.N. is available daily from 7:30
a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to answer questions or help you find your way through
the medical maze in cases involving worker compensation claims.
This service is available to managers of worker compensation at all of our client
industries. It is also available for workers who are having
difficulty getting through the system or have questions about
their cases.
Julie can help speed the process of pre-authorization for
surgery. She can track down needed records and assist in
clarifying return to work restrictions. While her job is similar
in title to your worker compensation carrier's "nurse
case manager," Julie is responsible for somewhere between
400 and 500 active cases at any one time. Obviously, this is an
impossible task to keep up with and she concentrates on those
cases where there has been a problem brought to her attention by
either the employer, carrier, physician or the worker themselves.
Usually, the problem involves a breakdown in communication.
Often by locating an errant medical record or providing a
piece of information to an insurance carrier she can get
treatment pre-authorization and assure that a worker will be
covered for a procedure that is deemed medically necessary. This
process is intended to speed the treatment process and reduce the
stress on the worker at a critical time in the treatment process.
Uncertainty, regarding coverage for treatment, greatly increases
the stress associated with an industrial injury and complicates
the recovery process. Any such information requests must comply
with the State of Illinois worker compensation law.

D.A.T.E. (Drug Abuse Testing for Employers)
Testing for the use of illegal drugs in the workplace is becoming increasingly
common. Faced with the urgent need for a reliable, competent
workforce, employers are increasingly moving towards establishing
programs to test job applicants as well as current employees in
ways they hope will be deemed legal in our court systems.
Pre-employment, random, post-accident and for cause testing have
become all too familiar events in our industrial
environments.
Our clients have asked for a quality Urine Drug of Abuse
testing program that meets their needs: We have responded to
those needs with D.A.T.E., a program that offers rapid results
reporting (in as little as 4 hours), convenience and flexibility
(5 collection sites), accuracy of analysis (federally certified
laboratory), competitive pricing with lower costs (and no hidden
costs), and assistance and expertise in decision-making
(Certified MRO).
Urine Drug of Abuse collections are available by appointment
